Aiming at becoming an excellent company that continues a profitable and sustainable growth, the Company has mapped out a 2009 medium-term management plan that starts in 2009 as the first year and is implementing various concrete measures to accomplish the following basic strategies adopted in conjunction with the management plan.
| 1) | Realization of a profitable and sustainable growth. |
| 2) | Pursuit of innovation by BCM (Balanced CTQ Management - a Toshiba business administration technique). |
| 3) | Accomplishment of CSR (corporate social responsibility) management. |
The 2009 medium-term management plan calls for consolidated sales of ¥180,000 million and for an ordinary profit of ¥11,500 million for fiscal 2011 as goals.

| Strategic resources will be actively allocated to growth areas. Sales and marketing powers will be reinforced and technological capability will be maintained and beefed up. The cost competitiveness will continuously be upgraded. In business for the Toshiba Group, the scope of business areas will be expanded in the field of nuclear power, thermal power, hydro-electric power, and substation. In business for the non-Toshiba Group, we will strengthen and expand the business for the general industry which proposes and offers synthetic engineering, design, execution, electricity and machine installation, testing and adjustment, and maintenance. Moreover, energetic sales activities will be undertaken inside and outside of Japan to further expand the Thermal Power System Business. | |||

| The divisions map out business strategies to meet goals set by top management. The departments and sections draw up measures to accomplish the business strategies. Measures thus mapped out are drilled down from top management to workplaces, finally reaching goals of the level of individual persons. Measures will be implemented as strategic measures drawn up after thorough communications among the different hierarchical levels, to sequentially trigger innovation toward goal accomplishment by each level from the level of mapping out business strategies to the level of setting goals for individual persons. | Giving the top priority to life, safety and law compliance in its business activities, the Toshiba Plant Systems & Services Group will work to gain the confidence of society. More specifically, activities centering on the CSR Promotion Committee will implement exhaustiveness in business risk management and law compliance, will eliminate industrial accidents by thorough implementation of safety management, will conduct maintenance and enhancement of quality, will reduce the environmental load and will contribute to society in a planned manner, among various measures. The standards of conduct of the Toshiba Plant Systems and Services Corporation will be implemented more thoroughly and a good trust relationship will be built with the stakeholders. | ||
