INDUSTRIAL AND FACILITIES
Orders decreased 4.5% to ¥45,976 million (US&381.4 million) and sales edged down 2.4% to ¥49,095 million (US$407.3 million) due to weak private capital investment and intensified price competition in the sluggish Japanese economy, as well as fewer overseas projects owing to the economic downturn in Asia.
Major orders included construction of mechanical piping and ozone equipment for an advanced water purification facility at the Misato Water Purification Plant of the Tokyo Waterworks Bureau; alteration of electrical facilities for hot rolling equipment at the Funamachi Plant of Nakayama Steel Works, Ltd.; and construction of wastewater treatment electrical facilities at Ibogawa Water Purification Center B of the Himeji Civil Engineering Office in Hyogo Prefecture.
Completed projects included construction of mechanical piping and ozone equipment for an advanced water purification facility at the Misato Water Purification Plant for the Tokyo Waterworks Bureau; construction of electrical facilities at the Scientific Police Research Center for the Construction Bureau in the Kanto region; and construction of wastewater purification electrical facilities at the Ibogaw Water Purification Center B for the Himeji Civil Engineering Office in Hyogo Prefecture..
